Summary/Abstract: The article highlights the definitions „kin”, „family”, „kin education”, „family education”, the research of scientists of the problem of education of children In Ukrainian family. For centuries Ukrainian families kept the traditions of folk pedagogics, historical memory, love of freedom, desire for independence of their people, brought up in children love of motherland, diligence, instilled universal human values. The essence of education in Ukrainian families was based on transfer of parental experience to children, cultural heritage and formation of values orientation. The basis of family education was and remains Ukrainian folk pedagogy, especially Cossac pedagogy, pedagogical ideas of the prominent pedagogues and cultural and public personalities of the past.
