Summary/Abstract: Szomszédunk Szlovákia: 1993-1999. A diplomata-történész szemével. By Ferenc Boros. Bratislava: Kalligram, 2000. The book Szomszédunk Szlovákia: 1993- 1999. A diplomata-történész szemével (Our Neighbour Slovakia. Reflections of a Diplomat) was published by Kalligram, a Bratislava publishing house, in parallel with its traditional series. Ferenc Boros, the author, introduces himself in the subtitle of the book as a diplomat and historian. There is some more information about him in the blurb: he studied history at the Charles University in Prague, for a short time he worked as a historian but soon he started a carrier in administration. From 1969 to 1995 he was employed at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the time he spent long periods at diplomatic posts, first in Prague and after the Slovak Republic was established, in Bratislava. He did not stop his active life and worked in government offices even after he retired: at the Strategic Working Committee for Integration and at the Institute for Hungarians Abroad.
