Construction of regression estimator for two-level data

Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this article is to demonstrate the usefulness of two-level modeling methodology for estimating the value of socio-economic variables. The first part treats of the idea of estimator construction for the two-level structure data. The second part describes the empirical studies which were conducted to show the application of described estimator to estimate the employment in the cross-section of counties. After the estimation the likelihood of the estimator which took into account the two-level structure was compared to a classical regression estimator. The analysis showed a significant improvement of the quality of estimates obtained using two-level modeling.
