In 2011, the Statistical Office in Poznań published the second part of results of a unique research concerning employment-related population flows for the year 2006, based on data obtained from tax records of the resources of the Ministry of Finance. Delimitation of local labor markets is conducted using two methodologies taken from the literature. The first is an algorithm developed for the UK by M. Coombes, A. Green and S. Openshaw, which is recommended by Eurostat as a standard approach to defining local labor markets in European countries. Another approach was used is an algorithm proposed by Kristensen for delimitation of local labor markets in Denmark. In the following part of the paper was proposed a taxonomic approach, which combines the benefits of both approaches from literature. After the delimitation of local labor markets in Poland attempts to compare and evaluate the results.
