The image of family shape as perceived by the engaged couple

Summary/Abstract: Some issues crucial for the decision about marriage are worth considering during the engagement period. The future family shape is one of them. Therefore, this study seeks to answer: Do the engaged couples talk over the future family shape? What are their expectations in this respect? The research procedure focuses on the following issues: attitudes of the engaged couples towards procreation, the causes of anti-procreation attitudes of the engaged couples, objective and subjective fears of the parenthood as well as preferred number of children. The study was run on 171 engaged couples. The diagnostic survey method was used with the questionnaire as the research technique.
