Summary/Abstract: Unequal social developments can endanger democracy. In view of the strong technologisation, the question arises as to the nature of human beings and the social conditions for the formation of a democratic identity. It should be noted that a society oriented towards human dignity promotes the individual self-respect and self-determination of citizens. This creates a balanced identity on which to build a stable democracy.
