Summary/Abstract: The author uses the establishment-level data from 2005 to 2013 to identify the extent of outsourcing in small and medium enterprises (SME) in Poland and conducts a preliminary analysis of the relationship between outsourcing and employment, outsourcing and labour cost, and between outsourcing and production. The date analysis has shown that outsourcing is popular among Polish units. Small enterprises have been more active than medium ones in using outsourcing. The increase in outsourcing has followed (was followed by) with the increase in production measured the value of sales revenues and with the relatively significant slackening in the rate of increase in employment. The preliminary analysis indicated that outsourcing affected labour costs only partially.
