Summary/Abstract: This article attempts to develop a theory of contextual curriculum based on ,,context” as a meaning-forming category, ,,competencies” as learning outcomes (as a teleological category), “innovations” (as a driving mechanism) active and problematic learning technologies (as a procedural category). The emphasis is placed on substantiation of the main idea of contextual curriculum, the elaboration of principles and content of the contextual curriculum, as well as methods for its projection and implementation.
