Summary/Abstract: The aim of this elaboration was to identify the kind of innovations, which is presented by 3D printing technology used in transport. By the basics from domestic and foreign literature and with the support of the aim the thesis “3D printing technology is an example of process innovation in transport” was positively verified. When used, 3D printing technology allow the enterprises to lower the unit costs of production of partsusing within the transport process or storage of the goods. At the same time, it is worth to mention that during analyzing the literature sources this technology was consideredas organizational innovation in terms of the operating principles adopted by the company. 3D printing technology in this area may conduct to the situations such us: lowering the transaction costs occurring in decentralized (local) supply chains.
