Summary/Abstract: Currently, representatives of the Z generation, i.e. the youngest participants in the labor market, are beginning to enter the Polish labor market. This phenomenon poses a new challenge to organizations: how to become an attractive employer for these people? What features should a work environment have for them, best suited to their expectations? This article attempts to answer the above questions by examining the so-called career anchors preferred by the representatives of the first cohort of the Z generation. 145 students from the last year of the second-cycle studies in economic faculty were examined. The results of the study showed that their most-favored career anchors are ‘lifestyle’ and ‘safety and stability’, but the completely negated anchor was ‘management and leadership’. Representatives of the Z generation concentrate their expectations towards the organization primarily on the issues of work-life balance, fixedpay components and the possibility of pursuing horizontal, but not managerial, career paths.
