Summary/Abstract: The changes in the demographic structure of the population, which have been occurring for years, associated with the increase in the share of elderly people, constitute a challenge for the economy and society. It is important to undertake actions in order tomaintain the efficiency of seniors. One of the forms of activation of elderly people are Universities of the Third Age, which give the opportunity to develop their own interests, acquiringnew knowledge and improving the physical condition of the audience. In the paper, based on the methods of multidimensional comparative analysis, the diversity of UTA movement in Poland by voivodeship is presented. The aim of the paper is to present the differentiation of Third Year Universities with respect to the number of students as well as the offer of courses, lectures and cultural events. The most rapid movement of UTW operatesin Pomorskie and Mazowieckie voivodeships, the least active are inhabitants of the Świętokrzyskie,Podlasie and Lubelskie voivodeships. Audience’s opinion about the UTA’s offer,as well as the motives of signing up for the classes was examined, which is also the aim ofthe paper. Candidates were also asked about new topics, which should appear in the form of exercises or lectures. Most willingly, seniors went for walks and excursions and would expect to expand the offer in this area. They believe that the most interesting would be lectures on medicine, healthy food, animal breeding and plant protection.
