Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper was to investigate whether the increasing role of family members at various management levels has influence on the implementation of formal planningin area of operational decisions in family-run business. A structural analysis, correlation and two logit regression models were adopted to examine the aim and to confirm or neglect the hypothesis. The models confirmed statistically that higher percentage of family members in a board of directors did not foster company’s formal planning system. With increasing share of family in board the likelihood that the company prepares operational finance plans or general operational plans decreased. But on the other hand, if the share of the family in supervisory board increases the probability that company will prepare formal plans raises.
