Academic Teachers Expectations Towards Scientific Work Appraisal and Their Realisation in the New Appraisal System at University X

Summary/Abstract: One of the important elements of human resource management in all types of organizations, also in academies, is employees appraisal. The appraisal of scientific and didactic work is a difficult task, however. So there are a lot of problems recognised in these systems. Academic teachers are naturally interested in the appraisal system at an university. They not only recognise many drawbacks but also express their expectations. The goalof this paper is to analyse academic teachers expectations towards scientific work appraisaland attempt to find out if the new appraisal system of University X complies with them. Academic teachers expectations were identified based on 48 interviews with representatives of all departments of University X.
