Summary/Abstract: The work can meet many human needs and influences considerably many life aspects. It decides, to a large degree, on social and financial status which results in other spheres of life. Satisfaction derived from doing professional job or lack of it translates directly into quality of life of individuals. The importance of professional work may be mostly visible when it is lost or there is not any work available. Unemployment usually affects people with disabilities and mainly with mental disabilities. Most of this group is economically inactive. Professional work for people with mental disabilities is a very important factor preventing from social exclusion and a key element of their rehabilitation which altogether influences on the increase of their quality of life. To check the mentioned influence of work on quality of life of people with disabilities there was a survey conducted in the group of employees in Polish Association For People with Mental Disabilities KOŁO in Szczecin, situated in Inter Municipal Vocational Activity Centre in Dobra. The survey conducted to achieve the target of this thesis revealed that all responders have been satisfied with their work and mostly with their quality of life. More than 40% of the responders assess it satisfactory and almost 30% – very well. The quality of life assessment as well as prioritarisation at work and personal life are independent on sex and level of disability.
