Summary/Abstract: Health promoters are playing an increasingly important role in the area of health education, including teachers whose role is to impart knowledge about health and health-conducive skills. Effective education in this regard will give rise to an increasing number of employees appearing on the labour market whose health condition and awareness of maintaining good health will improve quality of the labour market. Physical education teachers have a direct impact on this issue as they are, as a matter of fact, the greatest motivators and models for the young generation. The purpose of this study was to gain information about the level of physical activity and general knowledge of healthy lifestyle of upper-secondary school teachers in Koronowo. The study was conducted among 98 teachers (66 women and 32 men). In the research, the method of diagnostic survey was used which incorporated questionnaire. Conclusions: 1. Behaviours of physical education teachers are not models for the youth. 2. Teachers have a big awareness of the impact of physical education on health, but their involvement in exercise is low. 3. Lack of time and laziness are the barrier limiting physical activity whereas the escape from everyday life is motivation. 4. Teachers involved in the study are of the opinion that mainly parents and the physical education teacher are responsible for providing information about healthy lifestyle.
