Summary/Abstract: The increase in tourism creates job openings, not only in the tourism sector, but also in other sectors related to tourism (construction, agriculture, cosmetics and hairdressing, education, banking, insurance, crafts, souvenir production). In addition, the increase in employment means an increase in the incomes of local residents, which means creating additional income and the related demand, and subsequently increasing the number of new jobs. The entire tourism industry in the European Union countries in 2017 employed 26.8 million people, including 11.6 million in strictly tourist enterprises. The countries that create the most jobs in tourism are Germany, Great Britain and Spain. The average total employment in tourism was 12.2% of total labor resources, and direct 5.0%.
