Summary/Abstract: The French communicative competences in middle school is influenced by their pre-existing linguistic background.Based on this hypothesis, my doctoral research proposes to present a reflection on the acquisition of the expression of possession in French by Romanian learners in a linguistic context marked by the presence both of the Romanian mother tongue and of English as a first foreign language (L1), used for certain types of activities specific to teenagers. In this article, I will present a part of the results of the analysis of the data obtained at class following the tests and the interactions with 8th-grade pupils. This part of this research includes both written and oral data produced by learners during their French lessons. My approach aims at the analysis of the linguistic means of expression of possession relation using a test in order to inventory the difficulties of the learners and to find an explanation for the influences which are manifested in their written productions.
