Summary/Abstract: This research reflects an issue of great importance today: the psychologicalassistance of mothers at risk of abandoning their children. The poor living conditions amongvulnerable families increase the number of cases of alcoholism, violence, ill-treatment and neglectof children. As a result, parents may be deprived of rights and children suffer the most because theyare placed in various specialized institutions for children in difficulty. The abandoned child is achild allied in difficulty, his/her development, respectively, physical or moral integrity beingjeopardized. By developing parental competence we can form a set of physical, intellectual andemotional abilities of parents regarding how they interact with their minor children.
