Aspiracje i plany życiowe młodzieży obciążonej sieroctwem społecznym

Summary/Abstract: Children’s homes are allocated for children in the intellectual norm and apart from replacing the family they must also reduce effects of its harmful influence and to level the developmental gaps prior to the arrival of the child in the institution. The research was conducted in February, 2011 at three children’s homes in the Podkarpacie Province: in Żyznów, Dębica and Strzyżów. The plans of children from children’s homes concerning the family life and educational-professional plans were the subject of the research. The purpose of the research was to show aspirations and plans as well as the description of conditions influencing them. During the research a method of diagnostic survey technique by means of questionnaire forms was used. On the basis of the research it can be concluded that young people from the examined homes in spite of the difficult situation in life have fairly high aspirations. Those children chose mainly schools preparing them for the profession. Specializations and traditional professions prevail among their choices. For these reasons it seems necessary to introduce educational and vocational recognition which help children choose a future school, and consequently, profession and employment.
