Summary/Abstract: Innovation became one of the main tools of competition. But the importance of innovation depends of the kind of industry evolution. The industries evolve along one of four distinct trajectories – radical, progressive, creative, and intermediating. When industry undergo radical and creative, the innovation, new product, new technologies become main tool of competition. At industries, which undergo progressive and intermediating change, more important is to properly use innovation.
