Summary/Abstract: It is known that being chosen by intellectual capital is among the development criteria of countries. In today's economy, businesses need to develop measures to keep human capital in their hands so that sustainable development can be maintained. From this point of view, the current study aimed to determine the effects of migration on intellectual capital, by establishing a link between migration and the number of granted patents on provincial basis. With the analysis of the data (from 2000 to 2010), obtained from Turkish Patent Institute (TPI) and Turkish Statistics Institute (TSI), on the number of granted patents and migration on provincial basis; the provinces that get migration are found to be decisive in patents numbers, so the effect of migration on intellectual capital is statistically proven. Moreover, some implications for researchers on further research are provided besides some recommendations for the practitioners.
