Summary/Abstract: Family microenterprises represent a significant group of businesses in the tourist market. However, it should be remembered that these companies have a lower competitive potential than the larger ones, e.g. hotels. That is why we should look for opportunities to build their competitive advantage. It seems that this can be based on the family nature of the company, particularly (in the case of accommodation services) on hospitality. The paper presents the results of a preliminary survey conducted on a selected group of potential tourists. The results indicate the potential of hospitality and they are a prerequisite for further research in this area.
