Summary/Abstract: The aim of the discussion is to point out the importance for the development of small and medium-sized independent hotel companies of employee involvement. The paper presents the characteristics of small hotel companies, highlights the role of involved employees of these objects and provides examples of engagement in the company. The aim of this paper to present how employee’ engagement influences business performance. The article presents the determinants of commitment. We examined the conditions conductive to growth commitment. In hotels with good working conditions level of commitment is higher. Especially in small independent hotel companies, the quality depends on the human factor. Diligence, perseverance and willingness to meet the needs of the guest make the guest satisfied. The involvement of the employees determines the success of the company.
