Summary/Abstract: This article aims to identify currently existing approaches to human resources management in the gastronomic companies and the increasing role of human resources management in building the competitive advantage of the company. The research was conducted in Masovian Voivodship in 2012 on a sample of 197 managers of gastronomic establishments. The results indicate that the important elements of human resources management in the gastronomic market are factors associated with providing the service. At the same time, training of the employees and building employee loyalty are still undervalued by managers.
