Summary/Abstract: Word formation using suffixes is a characteristic of Turkish language, and the primary objective of this paper is to analyze deverbal suffixes used in Atebetü’l-Hakayık which was written in Karakhanid Turkish. Considering the fact that Karakhanid Turkish is a link between Old Turkish and Middle Turkish, an analysis like this should emphasize the fact that deverbal suffixes were used in Old Turkish and Middle Turkish periods of the development of Turkish language. Also, the analysis should show which deverbal suffixes are still in use in Modern Turkish language. In fact, it should answer the question whether certain deverbal suffixes have kept the same function and meaning in Modern Turkish language.
