Summary/Abstract: The article is a resumé of the results of research by the Syro–German/Austrian joint archaeological mission to Palmyra between 1980 and 2010. It focused in four areas: 1) excavation and publication of the palace-like tomb no. 36 in the Valley of the Tombs and research on other so-called temple tombs and their decoration; 2) in-depth investigation of quarries of hard limestone situated 15 km northeast of the city; 3) restoration, publication and presentation of textiles found in the tombs of Palmyra; 4) urbanism of early pre-Roman Palmyra and excavation of the residence of a caravan leader in the area south of the Wadi. A full bibliography of all publications within these projects is given as well.
