Summary/Abstract: It is a known fact that human beings migrated from different geographies for differentreasons in the historical process. Most of the time economic reasons, sometimeswar, political discrimination, environmental and ecological problems, education,health or cultural and religious quests have forced people to migrate individuallyor collectively. All these factors should be considered when analyzing irregularmigration movements. In addition to this, migration has different meanings in termsof the countries that are migrated and receiving. In this context, the approaches andpolicies of the European Union regarding the migration problem will be analyzed.
