Summary/Abstract: Ismet Mujezinović, artist and academician, was born on December 2, 1907 in Tuzla. He graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1929. A hundred and ten years after his birth is the cause for cultural public memory to this great Bosnian artist who began his artistic career in Sarajevo at the end of the 1920s, continued in Zagreb, Paris until the mid-thirties, and then until 1941 again in Sarajevo. He participated in People's Liberation War from 1941 to 1945. After 1945, he worked in Sarajevo for ten years, and later in Tuzla until his death on 7. January 1984. Therefore, in his work, the periods of painting and drawings between two World Wars were clearly distinguished, then the period of the drawings created in partisans and the post-war period inspired by the People's Liberation War (NOB). He was a remarkable portraitist and master figure who, with his skill, equally suggestively performed in small formats, drawings and large figurative compositions.
