The Creation of the Classified Recreational Premises on the Bank of the Orlik Dam

Summary/Abstract: The discerning style of the Vystrkov summer resort indicates that in socialist Czechoslovakia, too, everyone was equal but some were more “equal” than others. The design work on the facility intended for the leading Communist Party and state officials was done by political prisoners. The results of their work have recently begun to draw the attention of those interested in post-war architecture. The Vystrkov facility is in fact very far from a typical socialist building project.
