Summary/Abstract: Tuzla is one of the cities with the largest anthropopression on the atmospheric complex in Europe. The air above the urban part of Tuzla is loaded with high values of pollutants, especially sulfur dioxide and particulate matter. Industry, traffic and many smaller individual fireboxes are the biggest polluters. In addition to the aforementioned broadcasters, the geographical location of Tuzla, together with the weather conditions and morphological characteristics, are significant factors for air quality. The largest part of the urban part of the City of Tuzla is geographically located in the basin, which is characterized by temperature inversions in the colder part of the year. In such adverse weather conditions, due to lack of advection and poor air turbulence, pollutants accumulate up to the height of the inversion layer and reach high values. In the warmer part of the year, the harmfulness of the pollutants contained in the air is generally not felt.
