Summary/Abstract: This paper begins with the premise that the issue of the relationship between the concept and the political reality in the case of ideology can be explained by using the analysis of two important terms pertaining to contemporary political theory. On the one hand, we take into consideration the term political doctrine, and, on the other, the term of political ideology itself. The semantic and conceptual relationship established between the two terms has often been marked by an identification which was not entirely justified. Therefore, we need to compare the two concepts in order to delimit their meanings as precisely as possible. What I intend to show is that ideology lays a given axiology at the basis of the politics that it aims to promote in reality.
