Summary/Abstract: Recent political advances have raised an extremely important issue of the necessity of rethinking what we study and how to do research on political communication of the far-right parties. The goal of this overview study was to provide an overview of current trends in research of political communication of far-right parties and movements. One of the reasons for this analysis was the fact that radical right is increasing although new studies are emerging to investigate its ways of communicating. To that end, the overview study analysed twenty-four articles which had been published from January 2010 to March 2019 in eleven scholarly journals, and its main purpose was to explore the research methods the authors chose. The results of the study showed that content analysis was the most frequent method. Some authors often combined this method with a panel survey, which formed the second (quantitative) and no less important part of their researches. Therefore, combined or brand new research methods seemed to be more beneficial, because offering a wide range of data and a mix of both qualitative and quantitative techniques. Possible limits to the research of far-right political communication were in the goals and often application of more frequentative methods of analysis, which were often similar for individual authors.
