Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present some questions regarding the Italian philosophy after the Second World War. In particular, the paper illustrates some thematic issues related to the Neo-Enlightenment current in Italy, such as the role of philosophy during the time of fascism, the legacy of idealistic culture after 1945, the emancipation of Italian culture from provincialism and the „politics of culture” understood as a dialogue between intellectuals and political movements, especially the Italian Communist Party. The paper also examines the dialogue between the major representative figure of the current NeoEnlightenment, Norberto Bobbio, and some exponents of Marxist philosophy, concerning state issues and the question of freedom.
