Specialist dressings used in the treatment of venous leg ulcers

Summary/Abstract: Venous leg ulcers are a multifaceted, a serious problem of modern medicine. The healing process takes from several months to a few or even several years. Treatment half of all ulcers takes an average of nine months in 20% of cases, two years in 8% of patients with more than five years, and more than 70% of the cases it is possible recurrence of the disease. In view of the patients developed it is a modern concept of treating wounds, which are an indispensable element of the specialist dressings for optimal wound healing. Promote and accelerate the healing process, which have an impact on the improvement of the general condition of the patient, mental state, and as a result, quality of life. The aim of this study was to discuss the importance of specialist dressings in the treatment of leg vein ulcers using the TIME strategy.
