Summary/Abstract: In spite of their increasing intensity within the European Union, cultural exchanges have not reached a culmination that is satisfying for the understanding of cultures and their existing dialogue in Central and South-Eastern Europe. A wholly salutary book comes from a group of Slovak researchers, who have dedicated several years to writing a History of Romanian Literature. In the centennial year of Romania, this book represents the most beautiful homage that a country can pay to another. The Slovaks’ History of Romanian Literature is a veritable toolbox that synthesizes Romanian literature and history with no complex concerning distance or life speaking a different language. The book is an example of cultural dialogue and knowing Romanian culture from the outside as if having always been a part of it.
