Why Intelligence?

Summary/Abstract: Intelligence is more than just data, information, and knowledge. Intelligence provides an accurate picture of the situation, evaluates existing conditions, vulnerabilities and opportunities, estimates possible future courses of action and assists decision process. To examine the capabilities and intentions of the adversary, an intelligence picture must provide insight as a complete entity or system, gain an appreciation of the environment, not merely as a collection of unrelated individuals knowledge or units information. This approach recognizes that the obtaining of useful product of intelligence is a team effort and requires all resources contributing actively.
