Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the most typical problems encountered in the use of marketing techniques and methods in the course of the 2014 the local government election campaign in Silesia. Usage of the various methods of political actors and promotion tools allow to conclude that the level of professionalization of the local government election campaign is not satisfactory. Despite the progressive process of professionalization of election campaigns, the standard model is self-mobilization campaign 30-60 days before the election, quick-change profile picture on Facebook or trying to reformat a personal profile, sometimes building a website, a sudden concern for the population, production of leaflets and posters, distribution to the postboxes or on the wipers and waiting for the result. Electoral committees commit basic marketing mistakes, which characteristics are presented in the article.
