Summary/Abstract: The aim of the present study is to exhibit the advertising environment of the publications from Braila between 1929 and 1940. This report is, in fact, part of an extensive study that discusses the problem of cultural events in Braila for over a decade. It should be noted that nearly all the publications devoted large space for different ads. A notable exception was ”Analele Brăilei”. The only commercial entity that was present in its pages was the name of the typography where it was printed. In most publications, the ads come from various fields such as medicine, libraries, transportation, restaurants, lottery, cinema, as well as clothing stores of perfumeries. A conclusion of such an approach shows a high level of the city’s commerce and industry, as well as the shop owners’ interest to present their merchandise in these publications in order to increase their profits.
