The Specifics of Economic Life in the Context of the Catholic Faith

Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the specificity of the Catholic faith in the context of Western free-market economy. The goal is to show how Catholics have contributed to the emergence of economic life in Western civilization. The paper presents the differentia specifica of the Catholic contribution as compared to other cultural circles, such as, Islam, Judaism and Protestantism. In the closing part, those elements are exposed which differ Catholic capitalism from wild capitalism, communism and Protestant capitalism.
