Summary/Abstract: The problem of urban smog is one of the most important elements of Poland's environmentalpolicy. Its rank results from the high pollution of Polish cities and the difficulty of Poland'scompliance with air purity standards. The issues of air cleanliness in cities are becoming moreand more important for their residents, which is due to the growing public awareness in this area,as well as the initiation of court cases by well-known actors for compensation from the state forpoor air quality due to his failure to fulfill his obligations in this respect. The main cognitivegoal of this article is to determine the degree and scope of legal provisions regulating the issuesof limiting urban smog in Poland.The practical goal of this study is to try to determine the effectiveness of adopted legal solutionsand to propose further legislative solutions aimed at reducing the phenomenon of urban smog inPoland.
