The Maglavit phenomenon in the press of the time

Summary/Abstract: Since the end of June 1935, throughout the summer of that year, the first page of the Romanian daily newspapers was dominated by the three theophanies of the shepherd Petrache Lupu from Maglavit and by their effect. Decades later, the name of Petrache Lupu, respectively that of the Dolj commune Maglavit, was synonymous with the “divine miracle” and the miraculous healings performed here. But also with the flood of pilgrims.
