Summary/Abstract: In the context of EU accession, Romania had to declare their determination to make the necessary reforms in order to become a member state. This prompted a change in the whole structure of economic, social and political development of the country. The problem of Romanian Public Administration is considered to be one of the arrears overall reform process, the goal of EU accession offered Romania the general framework in which reforms could be achieved. It is recognized that the process of modernization and reform that took place in Romania in recent years has been rather slow. Some areas have progressed faster than other areas. The reform process has had some priorities, including public administration. Unfortunately, modernization and reform in this sector has not enjoyed a sustained dynamism so that the European Commission had to draw constant attention to Romania to speed up the reform process in public administration.
