Summary/Abstract: Among the important discussions in the philosophy of religion is the explanation of religious belief. There are different interpretations of the belief in God, which is the most important and prominent topic concerning religious belief. This paper presents the most important explanations of religious beliefs from the perspective of prominent representatives of natural theology, fideism and reformed epistemology. The paper particularly discusses rational justification of some beliefs. The issue of rational justification has become increasingly important in the modern period when everything is questioned, including religious beliefs. A modern man, exposed to such prevailing trends, mostly denies religious beliefs and utterly and completely rejects religion in its traditional meaning, whereby he is less and less inclined to accept anything without rational evidence.
