Surrogacy in Poland – allowed or forbidden?

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issue of the Polish legislator’s approach to the matter of the so-called surrogacy. The author presents the concept of surrogacy and ethical dilemmas related to it, as well as points out the civil, legal, family and criminal law aspects of this phenomenon. Most recent changes in the Polish Penal Code, intended by the legislator to counteract e.g. the surrogacy practices, are also discussed. The author intends to answer the question, to what extent these changes are capable of limiting the scale of the discussed phenomenon.
