Summary/Abstract: This contribution follows up closely on Hlaváčková’s text on the beginnings of neurology at faculties of medicine in Prague. The first part describes the generational change at neurology departments of both faculties of medicine (the Czech and the German one) in late 1930s and the development of the Clinic of Neurological Diseases under Professor Kamil Henner’s leadership. In the second part, the author follows how, in the ever more restricted conditions after the closing of Czech universities and until the end of the Second World War (November 1939 – May 1945), the originally clinical institute of the Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University was transformed into merely a general medical facility and how its situation evolved. The third part focuses on the foundation and development of a separate neurology clinic of the German Faculty of Medicine in 1939–1945, which was headed by Professor Kurt Albrecht, the last rector of the German University in Prague.
