Summary/Abstract: The starting assumption is that the historical exclusion of women from the civil rights continues and is reflected on the city space through the domination of patriarchal relations. Although women today have more rights granted by the law than ever before, beyond the law, gender inequalities spill over into the daily life, which can be observed in the city space through various aspects. The paper shows some of these obstacles and types of inequalities, but also some possibilities to overcome them. It should also be emphasized that, regardless of ideological and political contexts or a dominant socio-economic system, seen from the perspective of gender, there are some basic common characteristics of the right to the city of women in all societies.
