Summary/Abstract: An “ill-bird”, the name proposed by Jan Błoński, helps encapsulate the attitude of the right-wing and nationalist segments of the society towards the people condemning the actions of their compatriots before Others. The author strives to characterize the logical fallacies inherent to nationalist thinking about the guilt of those who managed to believe in their own impeccability. He also points to the socially harmful therapies proposed by nationalists who want to treat the society’s condition by negating the crimes committed by that society. This involves a so-called replacement of the elites, disparaging authority figures and fighting with independent cultural institutions that support democracy, particularly, the institution of the salon.
