Japca Monastery – a history of spiritual resistance

Summary/Abstract: In this study, we analyzed the historical context, the spatial, architectural, terminologicaland scientific framework of the Japca monastery, the only monastic complex in the Pruto-Dniesterarea that has been functioning continuously since its establishment. The internal and external factorswere presented, which interrupted the good activity of the monastic place. Despite the interference ofthe political and ideological factor, the Japca monastery could withstand the vicissitudes of the era.
