Summary/Abstract: The royal iconostasis doors of the Brancoveanu Palace, from Mogoșaia, came in France at ARC-Nucléart, in order to be restored, in the frame of a French contest (Mecenat from CEA and Association of the Mayors in France). The doors, constituted by two wings, each one being sculpted and fretted, decorated with interlacing foliage elements and six polychromed medallions representing academic iconographic pictures were very deteriorated. A detailed structural and stratigraphic study was performed in order to build a proposal to the Romanian curators. This work explains the results of the investigations, and how they helped us to understand and trace the previous life of these doors, and to propose the restoration work done further.
