Summary/Abstract: University autonomy is a prerequisite not only for a healthy society, but an imperative without which is not possible to talk about democratic processes. In democratic, technocratic and market-oriented societies, populism also occurs as a reaction to unfinished democratic transitions. Although it seemed to us that education, and university autonomy is a good basis for re-thinking European, enlightenment ideas. These are the narratives of the crisis, conflicts that make it difficult for us to think critically. Believing that populism can also be part of mainstream politics, the analysis of the reform of the Sarajevo University has shown us that populism is a postmodernist discourse which is also present in education policies.
